Configuration mode is invoked by holding down the 'reset' button
on the Driver's Information Center and pressing and releasing the
'unlock' button on the driver's door. This is done with the ignition
key removed from the ignition. Once configuration mode is
achieved, the 'reset' button should be released. The Window Valet ™
is now at the Top Level Menu.
All but the earliest C5's can invoke Configuration Mode with a
simpler short-cut. Simply press 'reset' on the Driver's Information
Center three times in succession, with no more than one second of time
between presses.
When Configuration Mode is achieved, the Window Valet ™ responds
by causing the Instrument Panel Cluster to triple chime and by moving
the tachometer needle to 1K RPM. At this point, any of the menu
items are available via the buttons on the Driver's Information Center.
